Connect with Maria
Maria Cabendez, LMSW
I am a first-generation immigrant from Northern Mexico. Central Texas has been my home for nine years. My social work experience includes working with diverse and vulnerable populations, in both English and Spanish. I enjoy working with Latinx/Hispanic adults, adolescents, and families as they navigate mental wellbeing, identity, complex relationships, and life transitions. I have a particular interest in walking with clients through family dynamics influenced by cultural components, acknowledging the ways culture and identity can shape their experiences.
I provide affirming support in a space where clients can feel safe being their authentic selves. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, compassionate, and strengths-based. My goal is to help clients better understand their thoughts and emotions, develop effective coping skills, strengthen relationships, and identify practical steps toward meaningful change.
Clients can expect a judgment-free space where they are encouraged to show up as they are. I believe therapy is a collaborative process, and I work alongside each client to understand their unique experiences, honor their cultural background and identity, and build on the strengths they already possess. My goal is for clients to feel heard, supported, and empowered as they work toward greater wellbeing and a life that feels more aligned with who they are.
